Freshlyground are known for their fusion of different music genres, including African, pop, and jazz. Their music is characterised by vibrant rhythms, melodic vocals, and socially conscious lyrics. The band gained international recognition after collaborating with Shakira on the 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)." Freshlyground continues to produce music that promotes cultural diversity and speaks to important social issues.
