Thread: Fluffy/Possible Exorcists List (1850)

This is my attempt at a fluffy (but, for the time being, Captain Alberec-free) Exorcists list. I will be trying out Captain Alberec, too, but 1) in general I prefer librarians, 2) it's going to take me a while to amass the bits I'll need to kit-bash the Exorcist's special character, and 3) not all opponents will let me play with a Forgeworld character, so I'll probably be using some variant of this list, even into the future.

Here goes:

• 10 Tactical Terminators (2 Assault Cannon, 2 Heavy Flamers, 2 Chain Fists)
• Dreadnought w/Plasma Cannon, Power Fist (built in Heavy Flamer)
° Drop Pod w/Locator Beacon

Troops
• 10 Tactical Marines (Melta/Melta), Sergeant w/Power Weapon, Meltabombs, and Teleport Homer
° Rhino w/Dozer Blade
• 10 Tactical Marines (Plasma/Plasma), Sergeant w/Power Weapon, Meltabombs, and Teleport Homer
° Razorback (Las/Plas) w/Dozer Blade
• 10 Scouts w/Camo Cloaks (Missile Launcher, 4 Snipers)

Fast Attack
• Stormtalon w/Lascannons

Heavy Support
• Land Raider Godhammer

The goal is to create a force that reflects the vaunted tactical flexibility of the Exorcists. I've got some heavy deep striking, and a lot of it is rendered very reliable by locator beacons, teleport homers, and the natural qualities of drop pods which means I can put things exactly where I want them. I've got a lot of options for combat-squadding my units so I can create versatile units or specialized units, depending on the situation. Everything has a ride, and even my heaviest tank can carry troops and help claim objectives.

Long and the short of it - what do you think?

Just for kicks, here's how I'd build the same list (basically) but using Captain Alberec:

° Command Squad, 4 w/Power Weapon & Storm Shield, 1 Meltagun, 1 Flamer, 2 Storm Bolters
• Librarian (Epistolary)

Elites
• 5 Tactical Terminators (1 Flamer, 1 Assault Cannon, 2 Chainfists)
• Dreadnought w/Plasma Cannon & Power Fist (built-in Heavy Flamer)
° Drop Pod

Troops
• 10 Tactical Marines (Melta/Melta), Sergeant w/Power Weapon & Meltabombs
° Rhino w/Dozer Blade
• 10 Tactical Marines (Plasma/Plasma), Sergeant w/Power Weapon & Meltabombs
° Rhino w/Dozer Blade

Fast Attack
• Stormtalon w/Lascannons

Heavy Support
• Land Raider Crusader

Alberec, the command squad, and the librarian form a deathstar and ride around in the crusader. This list has still got lots of tactical flexibility, but has a serious melee punch.
