Pro-Life

QUESTION: What are the main points of a pro-life view of abortion?

ANSWER:

Many people outside of the pro-life arena do not understand that abortion is a very dangerous procedure. There can be a lot of negative side-effects both physically and psychologically. A woman's body naturally resists the abortion causing physical and emotional problems. The sad thing is, many women are not told just exactly what side effects may occur. Some of those include: infertility, uterine bleeding leading to prolonged bleeding or spotting, breast cancer, placental uteral or cervical infection or rupture, severe hemorrhage, seizures, coma, and even death. And as far as psychological side effects, 94% who had abortions experienced negative, emotional side-effects.

Religion fuels much of the intensity of the pro-life abortion debate. Modern government is separated from organized religion, but in the western world, the teachings of any one religion should not dominate the laws of the nation. The morals and beliefs of the people are what create the morals and beliefs of the government, and these individual morals are influenced by religion. Religion should not be discounted in any political decision because by affecting many individuals, religion affects society. The Bible clearly speaks against abortion:

Jeremiah 1:5 says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Isaiah 49:1, 5 says, "Before I was born, the Lord called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name. And now the Lord says - he who formed me in the womb to be his servant."

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?
