About Us

Our story

Abe’s Audio is a leading audio production house renowned for exceptional service, creative excellence, and outstanding talent. We provide audio production and voice overs to media, agency, eLearning, video production & creative clients around Australia and beyond.

Humble beginnings

In 1998, founder and owner Abe Udy started the business in his bedroom with an old computer, fax machine, dial-up internet, and a microphone tucked between the shirts in his wardrobe.

Abe’s idea was to utilise emerging MP3 technology to allow him to record and email audio files to his clients, and he began producing TV and radio commercials for a handful of regional broadcasters & ad agencies. The clients loved Abe, the fresh voice over talent, and the fast turnaround.

As the years passed, Abe’s passion didn’t waiver as he built a strong team of producers, customer service specialists, and voice over talent that his clients loved and could rely on. His passion, vision, and foresight continued to be at the heart of the business.

Today

Fortunately, the microphone is no longer in Abe’s wardrobe. However, he remains heavily involved in the business and, together with his wife Hanna, leads a team of more than 20 staff and some of the best voice talent in the industry.

With our head office/studios in Tasmania and voice talent around Australia (and the world), we’ve developed systems that enable us to deliver high-quality voice overs and audio production, wherever our clients are based.

With innovations such as directed voice sessions via Zoom and a database of over 23,000 individually recorded pronunciations, you can rely on us to deliver the audio you need, every time. It doesn't matter if the voice talent is in Perth, you’re in Newcastle, and the producer is in Tasmania; Abe’s Audio provides a highly efficient service that you can rely on.

To help make a positive impact in the lives of others, we support Compassion Australia’s work in the Philippines and sponsor one child for every staff member on our team. We also support Loaves & Fishes Tasmania , delivering food and hope to those doing it tough. In addition, our team provides pro-bono creative services for selected charities and nonprofits.
